US daylight saving ends: re-plan BPO pickups today
US daylight saving ended today, so BPO pickups for US shifts move one hour later in Dhaka. Use this roster table, checklist and fleet message tonight.

US daylight saving ended at 2 am US time on Sunday 1 Nov 2026, so every US-facing shift now starts one hour later in Dhaka. Re-plan BPO pickups before tonight's first Pick leg. A 22:00–07:00 campaign becomes 23:00–08:00. Below: the before/after roster, a re-timing checklist, and the exact messages for your fleet and agents.
Key takeaways
Bangladesh has no daylight saving, so the gap to the US grew by one hour today.
A Pacific-time 9-to-6 campaign moves from 22:00–07:00 to 23:00–08:00 Dhaka time.
Every Pick and every Drop leg moves by 60 minutes, starting tonight.
Arizona and Hawaii accounts do not change, so check each campaign's client location.
Why did the shift move an hour today?
The US clocks went back one hour at 2 am local time on Sunday 1 Nov 2026. Bangladesh keeps the same clock all year. So the distance between Dhaka and any US city that observes daylight saving just grew by an hour.
For a team serving the US East Coast, that change landed around midday in Dhaka. For the West Coast, it landed mid-afternoon. Either way, it happened before tonight's login. Your agents' 22:00 start is already wrong if their client sits in California.
The same almanac page puts the next change on 14 Mar 2027, when US clocks go forward again. Everything you do tonight gets undone then. Write that date in the transport calendar now.
What does the new roster look like?
Here is one campaign, worked through. It serves a client on US Pacific time. Agents work 9 am to 6 pm Pacific, with the Dhaka office in Banani.
Item | Until 31 Oct (Dhaka time) | From 1 Nov (Dhaka time) |
|---|---|---|
Client day | 9 am–6 pm Pacific | 9 am–6 pm Pacific |
Agent login | 22:00 | 23:00 |
Agent logout | 07:00 | 08:00 |
Pick leg arrive at office | 21:40 | 22:40 |
Drop leg leave office | 07:15 | 08:15 |
First home pickup, Mirpur 10 | 20:45 | 21:45 |
Last home drop, Uttara Sector 7 | 08:20 | about 08:50 or later |
Example roster. Your pickup times depend on your own routes.
Look at the last row. The Pick side simply slides an hour. The Drop side does not. At 07:15, the roads out of Banani were still quiet. At 08:15, the morning school and office traffic has started. A drop that took an hour may now take longer. Plan for that before agents start complaining.
How do you re-time Pick & Drop for the change?
Work through this list today. It takes one admin about an hour for a few routes.
Before tonight's Pick leg
List every campaign and the US time zone its client works in.
Mark the ones that do not change. Clients in Hawaii and most of Arizona stay on the same clock all year.
For every other campaign, add 60 minutes to login and logout.
Add 60 minutes to each route's arrive time at the office.
Add 60 minutes to each first-stop pickup time.
Send the fleet message below, and get a reply from each driver's supervisor.
Send the agent message below, at least two hours before the first pickup.
Before tomorrow morning's Drop leg
Move each Drop leg's leave time by 60 minutes.
Re-check the longest Drop route. Morning traffic now overlaps with it.
Decide whether that route needs a second vehicle, or a split into two shorter loops.
Tell security and the front desk about the new gate times.
The step most teams forget is the Drop leg. Everyone remembers the login time, because the client's dialler enforces it. The 08:15 drop through morning traffic only shows up when agents start arriving home late and tired.
What message should go to the fleet?
Send it in writing, so nobody can say they didn't know. Keep it short enough to read on a phone.
From tonight, 1 Nov, all US-campaign routes run one hour later. Pick leg: arrive at the office by 22:40, not 21:40. Drop leg: leave the office at 08:15, not 07:15. First pickups move one hour later too. Arizona and Hawaii routes do not change. Please reply "OK" with the route names you cover.
Ask for a written reply from each supervisor. No reply an hour before the first pickup means a phone call.
What should agents hear?
Agents mostly need two times and one reassurance. Put the new pickup time first.
Your US client's clocks changed today. From tonight, your pickup is one hour later than last week. Your login is one hour later too. Your stop and route stay the same. If your pickup time on the roster looks wrong, tell the transport desk at least an hour before your pickup.
Send it through the channel your agents read before a shift. A notice board at the office is useless for someone already at home.
Which teams and costs change, and which don't?
Not every number moves. This table helps you spot what needs a decision.
What | Changes? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
Arrive and leave times | Yes, by 60 minutes | Every Pick & Drop route |
Number of legs per day | No | Still one Pick and one Drop |
Drop journey time | Often longer | Overlap with morning rush |
Driver duty hours | Maybe | Overtime if a route runs longer |
Security and gate hours | Yes | Front desk and guard roster |
Canteen and night meal timing | Yes | Kitchen staff need notice |
A longer Drop leg can push a driver past his agreed duty hours. If your fleet bills overtime, expect a small rise on the next bill. Agree now whether the extra time is overtime or simply the new normal.
Check where your client really is. A campaign "for a US bank" may serve staff in several time zones. Ask the operations manager which clock the shift follows, not where the client's head office sits.
How does this work on VMS?
VMS, a business transport marketplace in Bangladesh, runs office Pick & Drop on fixed routes with set arrive and leave times. Each working day has one Pick leg and one Drop leg. When a seasonal change like this hits, you agree the new times with your fleet and update the route times, so tonight's legs run on the new clock.
Employees on the VMS employee app see their own vehicle live from 30 minutes before pickup. After a time change, that matters. An agent who still expects 20:45 sees no vehicle moving yet, and knows to wait.
Does Bangladesh change its clocks?
No. Bangladesh stays on the same time all year. Only the gap to countries with daylight saving changes.
When do US clocks change again?
On Sunday 14 Mar 2027, US clocks go forward one hour. From that day, US-campaign shifts in Dhaka start one hour earlier again.
Does a UK campaign change on the same day?
No, not necessarily. Countries set their own dates. Check each client country's own clock-change date before re-timing those routes.
Do we pay more for the new times?
Usually not for the Pick leg. A Drop leg that now runs into morning traffic may add overtime, so agree it with the fleet before the first bill.
Run night-shift Pick & Drop with times you can change
Post your BPO routes and shift times on VMS. Vetted fleets bid, you choose, and every Pick and Drop leg is tracked and billed from real trips.
